Olive Oil Tasting > Wine Tasting

Join us for a day out, learning about and tasting fine examples of the region’s wines and olive oils, in a fun and relaxed environment.

In the hilltop village of Bucchianico, we will first visit an ancient frantoio (olive oil factory) which houses a precious olive oil press, carved entirely out of wood.  Within the frantoio, we will learn what makes a great extra virgin olive oil, and how to distinguish a poor olive oil from a good (extra virgin olive oil).

A little way down the laneway, around the corner and down a couple of sets of stairs, we will find ourselves in an ancient cellar and serbatoio d’aqua (water storage cellar) which now houses a secret enoteca (wine bar).  While enjoying delicious food pairings, we will taste and learn about some of Abruzzo’s best wines.
